The markets run from the last week in April until the end of October and is open on Thursday from 5pm to 10 pm and Sunday 4pm to 9pm.
How do i get there? The markets are located within a 15-20 walk from the city and a taxi from the city will cost approx $10.00. Public buses connect the markets to the City and Northern Suburbs. Bus number 4 goes directly to Mindil Market. For bus route details click here.
Alcohol is not sold in the markets but you can bring your own alcohol and ice is available at Mindil. You can also rent tables and chairs and enjoy a drink in comfort as so many patrons do.
There are over 25 cuisines from virtually every continent: Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Chinese, Sri Lankan, Indian, African, Mexican, Pilipino, Malaysian to name a few. Please see the information booth if you have any particular dietary needs, we have Halal, vegetarian stalls. The markets have a variety of ways to keep the kids amused. Pony rides, petting zoo, laughing clowns, jumping castle with some great music and acts for the children’s entertainment and a beautiful beach by the Arafura sea.
